Here is a detailed timetable to keep you on track:
Day 8-10: Permanent Housing
Our partner company will provide accomodation ONLY for the first week. This will give you enough time to get your permanent accomodation with the help of our partners of course.
- Search for Permanent Accommodation:
- Start looking for a long-term rental apartment or house. Use websites like Craigslist, Kijiji, and local real estate sites. Consider using a rental agent for assistance.
- Arrange viewings and prepare rental applications. Ensure you have references, proof of employment, and financial statements ready.
- Rental Agreement:
- Understand the terms of the lease agreement, including rent, utilities, and any additional fees.
- Sign the lease and pay the necessary deposits (usually first and last month’s rent).
Day 11-13: Professional Setup
- Employment:
- contact your employer to confirm your start date and any additional requirements.
- Familiarize yourself with your workplace location and commute. Do a trial run if possible to estimate travel time.
- Networking:
- Join local professional groups, LinkedIn communities, and attend industry-related events to start building your professional network.
- Attend networking events, workshops, and seminars to meet people in your industry.
Day 14: Cultural and Social Integration
- Explore the City:
- Spend a day exploring your new city. Visit local attractions, parks, and landmarks.
- Get a city map or use a mobile app to navigate and find points of interest.
- Community Centers:
- Visit local community centers to find out about events, classes, and activities.
- Consider joining a community group or taking part in local events to meet new people and learn more about Canadian culture.
