Treaty Trader Visa and Treaty Investor

A  Visa is a document that allows any foreign person entrance into any country. And anyone who seeks entrance must first obtain a US Visa which is placed on the traveler’s passport.

Treaty Trader visa and Treaty investor visa are visas that are given to non-immigrants of citizens of the country who maintain the Treaty of commerce and navigation with the United States. The applicant should come to the United States to participate in a substantial trade which includes trade-in service or technology e.t.c.

The Treaty traders and treaty investor visa was created to facilitate and promote economic interaction between the United States and other treaty countries. it was not created to send as a means for foreigners to retire and just reside in the United States.

furthermore, the Treaty Trader visa and Treaty Investor visa are non-immigrant visas therefore they are temporary. the Treaty Trader and investor visa can be renewed or extended if the investment or trade continues to meet the requirements of the U.S. immigration law and regulation. people who wish to remain permanently in the United States should apply for the required visa.

How to apply for Treaty Trader Visa and Treaty Investor

Both treaty trader visa and investor visa applicants and their employees get the same kind of visa (E-1 or E-2).  but, treaty traders/investors and their employees go through separate processes to apply for the visas.

The Treaty Trader visa and investor visa applicants should first register their company with the e-visa unit. to register their company they will have to submit an email, supporting documents. when the review is complete the e-visa units will then contact the Treaty Trader or Treaty investor to arrange an interview date.

Employees

Employees of the registered company also make the appointment through the US visa appointment service. it is not required for them to submit any document in advance. but on the day of the interview, it is expected to present documents while coming

Registering a Company

Registering a company goes through these three processes and they can be listed as follows-

Step 1 – Complete the online visa application form DS-160;

Step 2 – Go to the Visa Appointment Service website

Step 3 – Electronically submit the supporting documents.

Length of the visa

The maximum length for which a Treaty Trader visa and Treaty Investor visa (E-1 or E-2) visa can be given to a citizen is 5 years. but, whether or not to issue for that length of time is solely the judgment of the consular officer deciding the case.

Interview Documents for Employees of E-1 & E-2 Businesses

Employees of Treaty Trader visa and Treaty Investor visa (E-1 and E-2) businesses are expected to come with the following documents to their visa interview:

  • Confirmation page of the application form DS-160;
  • Completed Form DS-156E: Each E-1/E-2 employee applicant are expected to fully complete all parts of the DS-156E; 
  • Appointment confirmation page (if important)
  • A passport or other travel document:  
  • One 5 x 5 cm (2” by 2”) color photograph taken within the last six months:
  • Proof of the applicant’s status in the United Kingdom, if not a U.K or EU passport holder;
  • Proof of previously issued U.S. visas: 
  • A  job description letter which involves the description of the company; the roles, etc
  • Organizational chart showing their position in the company with clearly delineating lines of authority;
  • A current curriculum vitae or resume;
  • A copy of educational certificates, diplomas and/or transcripts;
  • A copy of the approval letter for the registered  treaty company;
  • A signed and dated statement of plan to leave the United States upon termination of nonimmigrant E treaty legal status
  • A photocopy of the I-797 Notice of Action authorizing the change of status granted by USCIS if residing in the U.S. without a valid E visa.

Interview Documents for Family Members

Each person applying for a Treaty Trader visa and Treaty Investor visa is expected to bring the following at the visa interview:

  • Confirmation page of the application form DS-160;

  • Appointment confirmation page (if important)

You can begin or start a trade using the Treaty Trader visa and Treaty Investor visa. And make a lot of money while at it.
