CELPIP cancellation policy -How to cancel or postpone my CELPIP test

0
By Emmanuel Emmanuel on September 19, 2023 Articles, Canada Immigration

Have you wondered what the CELPIP test is and how you can go about it, or do you know that if for any reason or the other you can cancel or postpone your CELPIP test?

Well, we will fill in that gap for you to understand what it means to do have the CELPIP test and what it entails to cancel and postpone your test.

What is the CELPIP?

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is the only Canadian English language test created by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The test gives you the chance to demonstrate your ability to function in English and accurately assesses your English abilities in a variety of everyday situations.

The CELPIP Generally evaluates test taker’s English listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills and is officially designated for permanent residence applications by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and is also accepted for professional designations.

The Test has just two versions, which includes the CELPIP-General Test for applicants for permanent resident status in Canada and the CELPIP-General LS (Listening and Speaking only) Test for applicants for Canadian citizenship.

Why Choose CELPIP?

There are various reasons why you should choose the CELPIP because it gives the following:

Fully Computer Delivered

The CELPIP Test is completely computer-delivered, allowing you to complete it in just one sitting, with no additional speaking appointments or interviews, giving you quick and reliable testing.

Anyone taking the CELPIP test uses a computer mouse and keyboard to finish the Reading and Writing parts of the test, and then a computer microphone and headset in order for them to complete the Listening and Speaking components of the test.

Quick Online Results

The results of the CELPIP Test are posted online in just eight business days. You are also allowed to choose the Express Rating, to ensure that your score is available online in only three business days.

Uses Canadian Accents

The CELPIP Test is 100% Canadian, and it makes use of Canadian accents. Test takers who have been in Canada, living and working will stand a better of understanding and relating to the Canadian accents that are used in the CELPIP Test.

Cancellation

The cancellation policies of CELPIP, like IELTS, are extremely rigid and permit few reasons for cancellation. You are to put in a cancellation request no less than 9 days before your test date and even then you will only get 50% back.

You can move it to another date, but you must apply for it at least 9 days and then you are expected to pay a fee of $50. You can still have a chance at getting your transfer if you provide a doctor’s note or proof that a relative has died but short of that, it is not likely to be accepted.

if you Fail to come for the test without any form of notification, then it is considered a cancellation and NO refund will be issued. You will then have to re-apply

Can I Postpone CELPIP test?”

yes, you can request for your CELPIP test should be postponed.

Participants are permitted to change or cancel the date of the test. There are various conditions such as informing the authority before 9 days of the test date. Otherwise, the half registration fee won’t be refunded.

It is quite easy for the participant to change or cancel the test date by having some basic instructions. You will be expected to pay some charges in order to do so.

This policy is just valid for changing the test date because you cannot show up on the mentioned date.

In case of shifting the test date, the participant is expected to pay $50 charges exclusive of tax according to their policy. This too should be pulled off 9 days before the test date.

Moreso, if the participant is suffering from any medical condition, they are to provide a complete and authenticated documentation. therefore, they will be permitted to pay a lesser amount to shift their test date.

If your request gets approved or not, it is added to the paragon testing enterprises. Refund or shifting of the test date will also be decided by paragon testing enterprises.

Conclusion

Now that you know about the CELPIP test I am very sure that you know what it means and also you are fully aware that you can cancel when there is an emergency so long as you provide good proof to support your reason, and canceling is most definitely not the end you can very much postpone it to when you want to and take on the rest very well and excel in it beautifully.
