What is the A-1 Visa?

Fill out Form DS-160

But the US Embassy is permitted to require an interview if they have a reason for it outside the Form DS-160 and supporting form.

How long is the processing time for the A-1 visa?

When you have submitted your A1 visa application the time for processing is very short. there are cases where the visa response is immediately given on the same day you submit your application.

The US Embassy will stamp your passport and then you can begin to make plans for your travel to the US if you’re applying from another country.

What is the validity of the A-1 visa?

When you get your A-1 visa the US Embassy gives you a period of validity for your intending travel dates or for an indefinite time. Therefore, if you are travelling between September 1st and October 1st the embassy might choose to have your visa prepared for only that one month.

However, if given the visa for an indefinite period of time you will be allowed to stay in the United States for as long as the US government recognise your position in the government as qualifying for an A1 visa.

Can I get a Green Card with an A-1 visa?

Having a green card with an A-1 visa is a little difficult but not impossible. for you to become a lawful permanent resident of the United States this visa holder has to give up their diplomatic status.
